The Way We Carry Light

Presented during Miami Art Week and Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, The Way We Carry Light marked House of Hues' debut at Aqua Art Miami. The group exhibition celebrated the beauty, power, and legacy of Black storytelling through the work of emerging and established contemporary artists. Exploring themes of identity, memory, resilience, and cultural inheritance, the exhibition illuminated the stories we carry and the ways they shape our understanding of ourselves and one another. Through diverse artistic perspectives and visual languages, the featured works invited reflection, dialogue, and connection—honoring both individual experiences and collective histories. As House of Hues' first international presentation, The Way We Carry Light embodied the gallery's commitment to elevating artists whose work expands cultural understanding and inspires meaningful engagement. Together, the exhibition affirmed that light is not only something we seek, but something we carry through our histories, creativity, and shared humanity.
